By Lori Designs~ Blog Hop!

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am so happy you are here today for our blog hop… hosted By Lori Designs. Today, she is releasing new images, and I am so happy to have the privilege to introduce one of them. This sweet image is called Ezra and he will be part of the Puddle Jumpers collection. Isn’t he adorable ~I just love him!

I really had a blast designing this card. As usual, I used my prismacolor pencils to color Ezra.  The designer papers are from October Afternoon. See the clouds.... I created those by sponging some chalk ink on top  of a little template I made.

This is how you can make them: just hand-draw the clouds on a piece of cardstock and then cut it around with a sharp pair of scissors. Then, place the template on a piece of white cardstock and start applying the chalk ink in circular motion with a small sponge. Yep, that's all I did to create them!

Here is the official blog hop list.

Shabby Chic-Princess Chloe!

Good morning peeps…I am so glad you stopped today! We are having our first challenge of the year at The Pink Elephant blog, and it is a color challenge!  I am so excited about this one because I got to use one of my favorite images. As you can see, I created some sort of shabby chic card.  Here are the details about the challenge… please create a card using these colors: pink, aqua, and orange. So, here is my take!

For this card, I used Princess Chloe image from the Puddle Jumper collection ~ designed by Lori Boyd. After printing out the image, I colored her with my prismacolor pencils and gamsol.  I punched a border using my Ek success punch and then sprinkled glitter on it. I love to do this especially when I am trying to achieve that shabby look. The pretty papers are from Imaginisce.

To finish off the card, I used a piece of vintage ribbon to tie the bow, added some pearls, and… again I sprinkled a little bit of glitter on Chloe’s dress and wand.

Well, I think that’s all for today. If you want to see the beautiful cards created by the rest of the design team, please stop by The Pink Elephant blog.

Thanks for all your sweet and encouraging comments… Have a wonderful day!!

Oh, Happy Day!

Good morning everyone! Can’t believe that a new year has started and I am so excited about it. I am very happy to announce that I will be designing for By Lori Designs digi stamps. A couple of weeks ago, my sweet friend Lori Boyd invited me to join her design team. I am so thrilled to be one of her designers, and I am looking forward to work with the rest of the design team. Thanks Lori for this incredible opportunity!

Starting today, Lori will be hosting challenges over at her blog and the first one this week is a color challenge. Here are the colors for this challenge: dark pink, light pink, turquoise or aqua, and olive green.

Here is my little card…. have fun with this challenge!

Today’s card uses the sweet image called Girl with Kite from the Sugar Sticks collection. Don’t you love those pony tails? ~ They look so adorable!!!  Here is the direct link to the store so you can get it right away.  As usual, I colored the image with my prismacolor pencils. I also hand-drew the grass to give a more realistic look to the scene.

I added glitter on the kite and on the sun. I wanted to add buttons but the ones I had were too big… so I used those tiny brads instead. I folded little pieces of ribbon and added them to the side of the focal point.

Next week, we will have a blog hop to introduce new images…. so, stay tuned!

Before I leave, I would like to thank you for all the sweets comments you left on my blog! I haven’t had the chance to visit you to thank you personally but I will do so very soon! Welcome to the new friends that had singed in to follow my little blog, so happy to see you here!!

Thanks for visiting again…..have a wonderful day!

JUST because......

Hello peeps! Hope you had a beautiful Christmas celebration. This is such a happy today for me as I get to share a very special card I made for this week’s challenge over at Cupcake Inspirations. A couple of days ago, I got an e-mail from Rachel Hope   telling me that the card I entered for the challenge that week made the top five. She also told me that I have been invited to be this week guest sweetie designer. Believe me, I wasn’t expecting this!  You have no idea how much I love to create because it brings me so much happiness…and along the way, I hope to inspire someone the same way I have been inspired by others.  I am so excited to show you what I have created for them ~ so, here it is!

The inspiration piece....

I had so much fun creating this... For the focal point, I used this gorgeous peony image from Just Inklined digital stamps. I colored the peony with my favorite coloring medium ~ my prismacolor pencils. Love the designer papers, they are just scraps I had in my stash from other projects.

The little details.....

This card has all sorts of embellishements, stiching, and tons of glitter. Well… I kind of incorporated some of the elements I saw on the inspiration piece. See those gold leaves… those are part of a little set of a decorative buttons I got from Joann’s ages ago….   back then, I was not even thinking about designing cards! Anyway, hope you like this little project as much as I do.

On another note.... Here is my first blog award!!!

Another sweet surprise I got the other day is this awesome award I received from my blogging friend Jennifer Hagfeldt. She is the sweetest person ever….and she is so talented! I love her cards and scrapbook layouts. So, thank you so much my friend! Now I need to share three things I love the most and these are….

1. I love to cook and entertain.

2. I love to go to the movies… especially with my children.

3. I love jazz.

Last but not least, I am so happy to pass it on to such amazing friends and artists!

Alright girls, I think that's all for today! Thank you so much for visiting... have a wonderful day!

Baby It Is Cold Outside!!!

….no, I mean it… It is freezing right now!  For me today is the official day to welcome winter.  I am not particular crazy about winter as I have said before my favorite season is fall and it is gone! On the other hand, my children are so happy to see the first signs of what is going to be a long … long winter season. This morning, they were so thrilled to see the first snowflakes following down magically from the sky.  Anyway, this is my card for the new challenge over at The Pink Elephant blog.  Here it is… hope you like it!

I am using a patterned paper I had from last year. I think that the designs on it really complements the image I picked from Lori’s Designs digi stamps. The image’s name is Puddle Jumper ~ Winter Dana. As usual, I colored the image with my prismacolor pencils and gamsol. I really want to color the same image with my copic too… hope that will happen pretty soon! The paper are from October Afternoon.

The close ups!

Have I told you how much I love my cuttlebug machine?  Love the fact that I can use my embossing folders and add texture to my projects especially this cute card. I used the snowflakes embossing folder on one section of the tan matting.  And any excuse is good to use tons of glitter ~ right! That’s exactly what I did here! After punching the icicle border with my EK success border punch, I added tons of glitter on it after I applied a light coat of clear stickles glue ~ I really love the effect!  Then I added a piece of satin ribbon and of course my newest addition the baby blue twine. I also added a gem of the penguin’s bow and some liquid appliqué on the scarf. I think that this pretty much covers the whole process of making this sweet card.

I am also entering this card to the following challenges: cupcakes creations challenge # 89, DDCC # 92, and JUGS # 63

Sorry for the long post... I feel a little bit chatty today!

Thanks for stopping by and for all the sweet comments you left in my blog. You have no idea how much I love to hear from you!

Take care and enjoy life to the fullest!
