Spring is finally here!

...I am enjoying every minute of it!!!!

Hello there! I spent six long days without Internet…painful I know…especially when you have a sweet card to share! Anyway, I’m soooo glad I am able to open a tiny door on my blog to share what’s inside today! So, come on in…..

Here is today’s card!

This is one of my favorite images from By Lori Designs, I just love it! I have wanted to create a shaped card and this little image was the perfect focal point for it. I created a background by stamping that tiny Easter egg image several times on the craft cardstock layer. It was time consuming, but I do love the end result!

Here are some of the materials and tools I used to create this card: Spellbinder die to create the card’s base, sewing machine, colored pencils, twine, buttons, patterned paper, and of course a touch of glitter.
Images: PTI and By Lori Designs.

I think that’s all for today! Thank you so much for your sweet comments, I truly appreciate them!
Have a fun and lovely day!

Copic markers...or colored pencils?

….that was my dilemma while I was trying to decide what coloring medium I wanted to use to color this super cute image. Well, I went with markers…yes, the super expensive markers!!! I must say that as much as love to color with pencils, I love the fact that I can color my images faster with markers than with my pencils.

Finding the right color combo is super easy; you just need to look at a copic marker color chart and you’ll find the matching colors! With pencils, I do some testing before I even attempt to color something just to make sure I have the right shades.

So, here is today’s card ~ hope you like it!

Don’t be afraid to try something new, get those markers out of the box and start coloring! Just have fun with them and enjoy creating!

Note: If you are considering buying copic markers, I will suggest you focus on one color combo only because you need have at least two or three markers in the same color family to be able to color an image.  For instance, I used BG11, BG13, and BG15 to color the image. Check your local arts and crafts stores to see if they carry copic markers and start using those coupons  ~ *wink*

Thanks for stopping by and for all your sweet comments!

A card and a tip!

Good morning sweet friends!

It has been a while since my last post….I know! Well, I have been having lots of fun changing the appearance of my little blog. I finally got rid of the pink polka dots background and added a new banner and background…etc...that I believe reflects my personality! At the moment, I am super crazy about this light blue color! Don’t know if you have noticed that…I have used it on my cards lately too! I also decided to have only two columns on my blog…it took me a while to learn how to add a third one, but I think that my pictures will look better and there will be less distraction from the sides. I have made some little changes on my html as well…yes. …I have been brave enough to do that on my own! So, hope you like the new look!!!!

Hola queridas amigas! Gracias por visitar mi blog… les comentaba que en los últimos días le he hecho algunos cambios a mi blog y por eso motivo no había tenido la oportunidad de crear algo nuevo. Pero aquí le muestro mi mas reciente creación!

Here is a little card I created…

Tip: In case it happens to you….

While testing ink colors to stamp the letter background on the pink cardstock, I forgot to clean my stamp and contaminated my new blue ink pad with pink ink. For a moment, I was…what have I done!… sure at some point you have made the same mistake! Well, I was able to remove the pink ink with a clean make up sponge… I just rubbed it gently and the pink ink disapeared!

I was trying to keep this short… not today! Thanks for stopping by…see you next time!

Welcome Baby!

Hello and happy Friday everyone! It's me again...and here is the little card I promissed to share the other day. I tried to keep it simple...hope I accomplished that!

The little image is from By Lori Designs. I colored it with my prismacolor pencils and gamsol...one of my favorite coloring techniques! The patterned paper is from Little Yellow Bicycle. If you noticed, I created  my own background paper by stamping a little baby rattle on the solid light blue cardstock. Hope you can see it!

I also used buttons and a little bit of glitter.

Well, that's all for now!

Have a wonderful weekend...see ya!

SCRSC 58~ ABC Challenge

Hello there!  So happy to be here to share a little something I have created for this week’s challenge over at Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps.  The challenge was to create ABC~ Anything but a card. Well, I kind of created a card and turned into something else!

Here is what I created...

I took a few pictures to capture the little details on the card before I placed it in the shadow box!

The sweet little image is called Daffodil Charlotte. I colored it with prismacolor pencils and OMS. I had a lot of fun coloring her beautiful dress and apron!  Now is ready to be hung on  my little princess bedroom.  It does look perfect there...can't wait to see her little face when she comes back from school!!!

I used papers from October afternoon. The buttons, rustic white CS, twine, sentiment, and little butterfly image are from PTI.

Off to go to bed and get some rest! It has been such a super busy but fun day!

SCRSC 57~ Primary Colors Challenge!

Hello there! Just dropping by today to share with all of you a little card I created for this week’s challenge over at Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps. This week’s challenge consists in creating a card using the following colors...

Fun isn't it?  So, here is what I created!

Love the fact that I had the choice to work with just one color… or two like I did with my card. I decided to use yellow and red as the main colors and beige for the neutral. What do you think about this super cute image?  Adorable…isn’t it? Backpack Oliver is the perfect image for this card!

I colored Oliver with Prismacolor pencils and copics. I love to mix and match papers, this is my favorite part when designing a card. I used papers from October Afternoon, Simple Stories, and Pink Paislee. All of these were pieces of papers I had from other projects. The sentiment came with the image. To embellish the card, I tied a bow and topped off with a red button.

I think that’ all for today! Thanks you so much for stopping by again!

SCRSC 56~ Sketch Challenge

Hello everyone! I am popping in today to share a card I created for this week’s challenge over at Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps blog. The challenge is to create a card using the sketch below. Don’t you love sketches? Such a great starting point when creating a card!

Here is the sketch….

...and here is what I came up with!

…closer look!

For today’s card, I used Cruisin' Chloe image. I colored her with Prisma pencils and copics. It was so much fun coloring Chloe! I have used several papers for the card’s matting…I mean this little card has lots of layers on it. The cute patterned paper is from My Little Shoe Box. To complete the card, I also used a piece of light blue trim, white pearls, glitter, and tiny clear gems.

Well, that’s all for now! I hope you will find the time to play along this week. Thank so much for all the comments you left on my blog during the SCRS previews! I appreciate your kind words!
