Mostly White!

Good morning everyone! I wanted to show you a fun card I made for our new challenge over at The Pink Elephant blog. This week, Lori challenged us to create a card using white as the main color. So after brainstorming some ideas, I decided to incorporate white by using my favorite embellishments such as peals, glitter, and liquid appliqué.  So, here is my card ~ hope you like it!

This is what I did to create my card. I printed out the image. If you are wondering where this cute image comes from? Well, it is from our wonderful sponsor, Meljen’s designs. My card uses the Bubble Bath Bunny image. Isn't this the cutest?

Here is a closer look to see the card details!

I wanted the bunny to be white, and I didn't want to use my pencils to color her body.  Instead, I just used my C1 copic marker and my blender. I went around the  inside lines of the image with the marker to create some depth to it.  After I applied a light coat of glue on her body, I sprinkled the glitter and… voila!  the image turned white without any coloring.

For the bubbles, I used white pearls and of course liquid appliqué to create that 3D effect.  I also used one of my cuttlebug embossing folders to add texture to the white matting. If would like to know how to create the 3D effect with the liquid appliqué, please let me know. I will be happy to take pictures and write a little tutorial on how is done!

Okay girls, my time is up! Hope you can join us this week at The Pink Elephant Challenge blog.

Choo-Choo... you're turning...

Good morning everyone! I am so glad you are here today because I have a new card to show you.   As you know, a new week brings a new challenge at The Pink Elephant blog. This week, we have a sketch challenge.  If you like sketches as much as I do, here is the one we will be using for this week’s challenge. Hope you can give it a try!

I must say that I really had so much fun coloring the image I picked from this week’s sponsor, Inktegrity digital stamps.   So, thanks Joni for allowing me to play with one of your images and for the awesome sketch you created for this week’s challenge.  It was nothing but fun…!  So, here is my interpretation of the sketch ~ hope you like it!

As soon as I got the image, I printed out and colored it with my beloved prismacolor pencils. My card uses On the Right Track digital image from Inktegrity.   This super adorable image is the perfect focal point for a little boy’s card or a baby themed card.  Don’t you think?

Oh, check out the tiny train lights I created with buttons!  The railroad sign is part of the digital stamp set.  I just printed out, cut it out, and then mounted on a strip of cardstock with 3D dots.   As a final touch, I added ribbon and the silver brads.

I think that's all for me today! Be sure to stop by The Pink Elephant to see what the rest of the DT has created for this week's challenge.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a moment to write your comments!

A magical day!!!

I love days like this… so calm, fresh, and filled with a special magic floating in the air. Can you feel it too? Is it Fall  knocking on our door already? I don’t know what it is, but it makes my heart happy!

It is time for another challenge at The Pink Elephant blog. Oh, this week I got to play with one of the most adorable images from Pink Cat Studio and some of my favorite embellishments: ribbon and glitter!

Today's card uses Lily Sunshine Fairy digi stamp. It was so much fun coloring the image and incorporating the two main ingredients ,so to speak, for this week recipe challenge: ribbon and sparkle.

I applied glitter on Lily’s wings, a little bit on her crown, her wand, and the flowers. I love glitter, but didn’t go crazy with it on the card. Instead, I used gems for more sparkle! Oh, I have discovered felt, and I love it! It was a glorious moment sewing the felt and the cardstock together. If you use your sewing machine to add stitches on your cards, you know what I mean by that…. he, he. For those of you that want to know, the patterned paper are from October Afternoon and DCWV.

Okay girls that all for me today… thanks for stopping by! Please be sure to stop by The Pink Elephant blog to see what the rest of the design team has created for this week challenge. Hope to see you there!

Have a beautiful day!

"Sparkling waves in glee..."

Hello all! Hope you had a great weekend. It has been crazy but fun around here getting ready for the new school year. I have a cute and fun card for you today! I created it for the newest challenge over at The Pink Elephant blog. This week, Lori challenged us to create a card using the “Summer Fun” theme. So here is what I came up with!

Here are a few things to highlight about this card. The image is from this week’s sponsor Simple Betty stamps and it is called Lola Summer. Don’t you love this image? It is so fun, cute, and cool… The patterned paper I used to create the scene is from Making Memories. I just cut a portion of it and attached it to the white cardstock. As usual, I colored the image with prismacolor pencils and gamsol.

I created the sun by stamping a circle using a solid stamp and yellow ink. Then, I added a yellow button on top of the circle to hold the sentiment. And finally, I cut out the umbrella from another patterned paper I had and placed it near the image to complete the scene. I love the fact that I can read a few lines from a poem that has been printed on the umbrella. Guess what the poet is talking about ~ yes! “…sparkling waves in glee…” I need to find out who wrote this poem!

Okay girls, I think that’s all for now!

Oh before I leave, I would like to thank my sweet friend Beatriz for the beautiful card she sent to me for my birthday which is tomorrow.

Here is a picture of the card she sent, it is so beautiful! Thanks Beatriz for making my day so special!

Thanks for visiting again and taking the time to write your comments, they are really appreciated!!!

Have a wonderful day.

My little corner at the Etsy world!

Good morning everyone! After I lot of thoughts and inquires from some of my blog visitors, friends, and family members I finally decided to open my own Etsy store. It has been something that I have been considering and working on for a while and thanks to the excitement and encouragement from my little girl and my family.  I love what I do, and I create from the heart. I believe my cards show that! It really makes me happy to create for others too.  I love coloring the images, playing with papers, and using my favoritie embellishments on my cards.

You are so SWEET!

Good morning girls! Sorry to disappear on you all last week. As you might remember, I mentioned before that I was going to move. So, we did! I am so glad that all the packing and unpacking is over…. for now!

Today’s creation is for our new theme ~something yummy ~ challenge over at The Pink Elephant blog. This week, we got to play with the Lollipops digital stamps designed by our very own Lori Boyd. If you love this image as much as I do, please visit  Die Cut R Us or By Lori Designs to get it . In the meantime, here is my card ~ enjoy!

The digital image I used on my card is called Lollipops - Hannah. After I printed out the image, I colored it with my prismacolor pencils. Then, I used one of my long rectangle spellbinder dies to cut it out. The gorgeous lace and button are from my stash.

The sentiment is from a little set I found in Michaels a long time ago. I paid less than a dollar for the mini set. I also added a tiny pearl on her bow to add a little bit of dimension to it. Do you see the itty bitty buttons on her dress? I made those using my liquid appliqué. Love that stuff!!!

I think that’s all for now…! If you are looking for more inspiration, please be sure to visit The Pink Elephant blog to see what the rest of the design team have created using these amazing images. Thanks for stopping by again!!
