Creating something together!

Happy Monday everyone! I would like to share a card I made for Father's day this year. I have been reorganizing my cardmaking supplies and among all the things I found this cute card. My daughter helped me to make it,her little face lighted up when I told her about my plan to make a card together for her daddy. Not all the time she is allowed to use my crafty space and my supplies, but father's day is such an special day! This is the card we made:

Hopefully, I will spend more time making cards that looking for coordinating papers. I did have a good organization system, but I feel is not good anymore especially when you have too many stuff. Now I have a clear picture of what I have! ~that's a relief!

For this card, I used bazzil card stock. I stamped the image with memento ink, and colored it with copic markers. I also used for the first time my nestability labels for the focal point and also as matting for my image. What would I do without my nesties, they are one of the best investment I have made so far- there is room for some more! LOL. When I say investment, I mean I own several sets.Ah! most of them, if not all, I got them from e-bay. I didn't have a sentiment at that moment, so I wrote the sentiment with my own handwriting. Looks like an stamp, but it is not.

Hope you like my card. Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!

My Time to Create Color Challenge:

Good morning everyone! I have a card to share today. I made it for My Time to Create Color Challenge for this week.Don't you love those warm colors!
This is what I came up with, I hope I got those colors right!

I tried to soften a little bit the red cardstock by stamping a background on it. I used white ink to stamp the image. I did stamp the letters individually; I used red ink and green to make them more interesting. To enhance the letters, I added clear gems. I didn't forget to add the brown color, you will notice that I incorporated it using ribbon. Here is a close up!

That's all from me today! Thanks for visiting my space..

Make a wish!

Hope you are having a great day today!Just a quick post to share one of the cards I have been working on. I wish the rain will stop for a moment so I can go out and get the papers I need to complete the other cards. We'll see if that happens today! I have been coloring some images, but I didn't have time to complete my cards over the weekend because of the rain. The weather is so bad that some roads has been closed to avoid accidents. So, I will cross my fingers and hope that this rain will stop for a moment so I can go and get the materials I need.

Here is my card! I love this Bella image, it was fun to color it. I stamped my image on PTI cardstock and colored it with my primas. No glitter this time, Oh! wait a minute I did add a little bit of sparkle on the cake roses and candle with my clear glaze pen. I love coloring with my prismas; they finally got the attention they deserve. That's thanks to Paula, who through her work inspires me every day. Have I told you that she is my hero.

Here is a closer look!

Hope you like my card! That's all for now. Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by. Don't forget to leave me a comment!

My Time to Inspire color challenge:

Note: On this occasion, Lauren is letting Kristen to host the challenge for this week, so please follow the link above to add your entry.

Here is the card I made for this challenge:

I was thinking to take a break from challenges this week. But how could I? after checking out the new color challenge that Lauren Meader is hosting this week. I mean those sweet and soft colors are irresistible. I couldn’t help myself, so I decided to create a card that it has been in my mind for days. Does that mean that I am ready for the holidays? I am not really sure because I get a little bit home sick during those days! I miss my family and I don’t know yet if we will be able to spend the holidays with them.

Ok! Onto the card: The challenge for this week is to create a card/project using these colors:brown, light blue, and white. My challenge was to figure out how to incorporate the brown color on my card. It is a warm color, but it does look stronger against the softness of the light blue and the white. Thus, I added it as an accent color. Here is what I did: I grabbed a piece of chocolate brown ribbon and placed it underneath the paper punch to create that trim. Then to make the white paper trim pop, I added tons of glitter to it. It does look like winter. Believe me!~ it is the touch of white snow I was trying to incorporate on my card, I hope I achieved that.

I wish you could see my card, it does look simple but very elegant. Besides, holidays cards should be simple and easy to make. I love details, but don't want to spend a lot of time making card that requiere a lot of work;especially for Christmas when there are a lots of thing to do!

Hope this card will inspire you! ~ thanks for stopping by. If you have time, write me a comment so I can visit your space too!!

Booooo!

Finally! I can share the two projects I have been working on. I will post them separately. You know Halloween is around the corner and here at my house, there is a lot of excitement for it. My daughter is already thinking about her costume for that day. Not to mention, that she has the stress to pick a Halloween outfit for her little brother. I won't be surprised if she comes today with an sketch of how her costume will look like. Anyway, here is the card I made with the Halloween theme in mind.

I really love this cute image! It is so adorable, don’t you think? Here is a closer look so you can see the beautiful colors I was able to use on this card. Hope you like this card and bring you to Halloween mood…!

I would like to share a photo of my kid wearing their Halloween costume from last year. I’m telling you; they really take Halloween seriously! Don’t they look adorable? LOL..

Hope your day is full of wonderful surprises! I need to go to continue editing the pictures for my second post. Thanks for checking my blog!

Trick or Treat?

Lauren Meader sketch challenge:

Hello, I can’t believe the weekend is almost here ~ I’m happy for it!
I have a quick post to show you the card I made to participate in Lauren’s sketch Challenge. The theme for my card is Halloween. The stretch is so perfect for this card because I was able to play with different papers and textures. The image was colored with a combination of markers and colored pencils. The sentiment is part of the patterned paper; it was the perfect fit for my card.

You will notice that I highlighted the spider's web of the patterned paper with my stickles to get that shinny effect. I love glitter; I guess you can tell that by now! - LOL... Anyway, hope you like it.

Here is a closer look!

Hopefully, I will have more projects to share next week. I have so many ideas in my head, I hope I can get them down and share them with you this coming week. Before I go, I would like to thank you for taking the time to leave a comment.

See you soon!!!

Cuttlebug challenge # 47- It's for Birds!

Oh boy! I finally got the chance to post my new project. Over the weekend, we had an special visitor. My daughter's teacher has a pet in her classroom; this cute guinea pig named Caramel. It is the cutest thing a have ever seen!. Because of the long weekend, we offered to take her home with us and relief her from the stress to stay alone in school. My children were thrilled to have her here and to take care of her..It was so much fun to see Caramel running around!

Onto the card now:

Even thought my week is already packed with school activities and meetings to attend, I manage to put some time aside today to work on a card for The Cuttlebug blog challenge for this week. This time, we have to create a card using the image of a bird. I tried to stay within the rule, so this is what I came up with.

I love this little bird image from Pink Petticoat. I wanted to try a technique called paper piecing. I love it! It does require some time because you don’t want cut out your image too much and then ruin it after you stamped or colored it. I used a soft patterned paper to print out my image. I am happy with the end result because I was able to follow the curved lines of the patterned paper and add a touch of glitter to the body of the bird.

Before I forget, Here is a brief description about the materials I used to finish my card: I used Urban Praire paper (basic grey) for my background. To make the little window,I used my nesties squares. Oh! I finally got my distress ink and I used it around the edges of my pink card stock. If you notice, I did color the small flowers with my copic markers. To follow the challenge’s rule, I used one of my favorites embossing folders ~ Swiss dots!

Here is a closer look!
I colored the clouds with a sponge.. this technique is very easy to do. Hope you can try it too!

I didn’t have a sketch to work with, so I decided draw my own idea and vision for this card. So here it is my little drawing too! If you have a question, please write it in my cbox.
Come back again! There will be more to see…

Hope you are having a terrific day....Thanks for stopping by!
