My mother, my friend...the reason I am here today!!!

Hello everyone! Here I am again to share a card I made for my mom. Yes, it is a little bit early to be making mother’s day cards ~ I know! I guess that I was so inspired by this beautiful pink patterned paper and  Melissa's photo color challenge. It is amazing how much inspiration you can get from a picture or a color palette!

This paper doesn’t belong to a particular paper collection. I know that the person who designed this paper is Anna Griffin; I think I got it from Archivers a couple of weeks ago. I used my new UK success punch to create a little bit of movement to the bottom of my card.

I must say that the ribbon is not as brighter as it appears to be on the picture,  it is a little bit softer ~ trust me!  At first, I wanted to make a bow, but soon I changed my mind because this ribbon is too wide. Well, I didn’t want the bow to be the focal point. I thought that adding just a piece of the ribbon to the card would add a nice touch to it.

I made a little tag to stamp the scalloped image and the sentiment. This card uses PTI polka dot stamp to create the background on the tag. I added gems around the scalloped image too. Then the flower, the button, and of course twine to make a little bow around the flower.

Okay girls, I have to go now! Thanks for coming back again to check my blog and for the beautiful comments you have left for me. I really appreciate your kind words…

Enjoy your day!

Hugs….

Les deseo una Feliz Navidad! Que reciban un mar de bendiciones en esta fecha tan especial.

Yummy ~ Chocolates!!!

Hi girls! I am popping in to show a cute basket I made this morning. My friend Karina was kind enough to send me the instructions to make it. I was on a blogging tour the other day when I spotted this cute basket on her blog. As soon as I saw it, I knew I wanted to make some for my little girl’s classmates. Trust me, these baskets look  adorable!  Best of all, they are sooooo easy to make.

What I love about this project is that you can fill it in with candies, cookies, chocolates.. or you can place a Christmas ornament as well.

In this case, I placed several  Hershey’s chocolates inside a treat bag . Then, I tied a red organza ribbon around it. I stamped “Happy Holidays” on white card stock and attached it to the bag too.

Here is close- up shot to show you the details on the basket’s handle.

You will notice that I used a different patterned paper on the handle. I added glitter to the candies image to make them pop!

It really makes me happy to make this type of projects for my little girl. In return, I get a lot of hugs and kisses…

Off to get some more projects done! Thanks for coming back and taking the time to let me know you were here. I truly enjoy reading your comments!!

Gracias por tu visita y que tengas un bonito dia!!

I Love Christmas!!

Hello everyone! I’m so excited to share my first Christmas card with all of you!! You have no idea how much I love Christmas. It has been one of my favorite’s holidays since my childhood. I love the family gatherings, the food, the music, and especially all the love you are able to give and receive during those special days.

This card is so beautiful and for some reason makes me happy when I see it. The whole inspiration for this card began with the beautiful patterned paper from Making Memories. I love the red polka dots on it!

This stamp is gorgeous, it is from Stampabilities. I stitched a strip of red cardstock to the polka dots paper ~ I am in love with my sewing machine again! I also added glitter to the ornament. What else can I say? This card is simple but sooo elegant. I’m very happy with the end result!

I used Kraft cardstock as the base for my card. I love the simplicity of Kraft cardstock because it doesn’t compete with the patterned paper. I am so glad I didn't have to stamp a sentiment, it is already included on the same stamp.

I hope this card makes you smile too! So glad you took the time to visit me today and thanks for all your sweet comments. I have more to show you, stay tuned!
Have a great day!

Gracias por sus lindos comentarios. No olvide que puede traducir mi página. Espero que regreso pronto! Pues tengo algo más que ensenarle.

Winter Wonderland!

Hello everyone! I have a card to share today. In our town we are experiencing winter weather which is unlikely to happen at this time of the year. Yesterday was very cold that I spent most of the day at home, and I made this card using a sketch from The Pink Elephant blog.

The other day, I found this beautiful winter patterned paper in the store . I couldn't resist buying it. I was convinced that I was going to use it very soon! The paper has light blue color tones and a lot of glitter on it. :)

Hope you can see all the glitter on the trees branches and on the ground. I also added tiny snow balls falling down from the sky. How did I do that? ~ Well I used perfect pearls to make them look more realistic.

Matching the embellishments was an easy task for this project. I used my snowflakes punch. Yes, the one near the image. To add a little bit of texture, I embossed snowflakes on my card stock. I happened to have this beautiful ribbon with the phrase winter wonderland printed on it. That’s was the perfect touch to finish the card.

I would love to stay a little bit longer with you and chat more, but I got to go to finish another project I started today.

But before I leave, I would like to thank you for all your comments. It makes me very happy to hear from you. Enjoy the rest of the day and thanks for stopping by!

Gracias por visitarme hoy y gracias también por sus lindos comentarios. Muchos abrazos!! ~ no olvide que puede traducir el contenido de mi blog.

Hugs, Silvia

My Time to Inspire color challenge:

Note: On this occasion, Lauren is letting Kristen to host the challenge for this week, so please follow the link above to add your entry.

Here is the card I made for this challenge:

I was thinking to take a break from challenges this week. But how could I? after checking out the new color challenge that Lauren Meader is hosting this week. I mean those sweet and soft colors are irresistible. I couldn’t help myself, so I decided to create a card that it has been in my mind for days. Does that mean that I am ready for the holidays? I am not really sure because I get a little bit home sick during those days! I miss my family and I don’t know yet if we will be able to spend the holidays with them.

Ok! Onto the card: The challenge for this week is to create a card/project using these colors:brown, light blue, and white. My challenge was to figure out how to incorporate the brown color on my card. It is a warm color, but it does look stronger against the softness of the light blue and the white. Thus, I added it as an accent color. Here is what I did: I grabbed a piece of chocolate brown ribbon and placed it underneath the paper punch to create that trim. Then to make the white paper trim pop, I added tons of glitter to it. It does look like winter. Believe me!~ it is the touch of white snow I was trying to incorporate on my card, I hope I achieved that.

I wish you could see my card, it does look simple but very elegant. Besides, holidays cards should be simple and easy to make. I love details, but don't want to spend a lot of time making card that requiere a lot of work;especially for Christmas when there are a lots of thing to do!

Hope this card will inspire you! ~ thanks for stopping by. If you have time, write me a comment so I can visit your space too!!
